Replacing taillight bulbs in the vehicle body Fig. 336 Side of luggage compartment: Luggage compartment light on left 2, cover on left 3, cover on right 4, and central screw 1. Fig. 337 Rear light in vehicle body: Removing bulb holder. ¤ Please first read and note the introductory information and heed the WARNINGS The following instructions only apply to vehicles with halogen bulbs. You cannot replace the LEDs in LED taillights. Contact your authorized Volkswagen dealer or authorized Volkswagen Service Facility for assistance. Please perform these steps only in the order listed. Removing the taillight assembly 1. Please review and follow the checklist 2. Open the rear hatch 3. Remove covers ⇒ fig. 336 (3), (4) or luggage compartment light (2). Insert the flat blade of the screwdriver from the vehicle tool kit into the slot and carefully pry off the covers or pry out the luggage compartment light in the direction of the arrow. 4. Put the flat blade of the screwdriver from the vehicle tool kit in the central scr(1)ew. 5. Loosen the central screw (1) while holding the taillight. The central screw stays in the vehicle body and is secured so that it can't fall out.
