Please carry out each step only in the order specified: ⇒ fig. 169 (2) (3) Low beam headlights / high beam Parking lights / daytime running lights headlights 1. Please review and follow the checklist 2. Open the engine hood 3. Remove the corresponding headlight assembly 4. Turn(1) the c opulansteticrc cloocvkewr ise (arrow) and remove. 5. Disconnect the connec(2to)r. plug Pull out the bulb holder (3) with the light bulb facing rearward. 6. Release the clamp by pressing it B Pull the light bulb straight out of the bulb forward and releasing both sides in the holder. direction of the arrows. 7. Turn the clamp to the side and remove the light bulb. 8. Replace the burned out light bulb with a new bulb of the same type. Insert the bulb holder into the headlight Insert the bulb in the headlight assembly assembly and slide it in completely. The bulb 9. and return the clamp to the closed holder must latch with an audible “click” and position B. must be flush with the headlight assembly ⇒ fig. 170 (arrow (A)). The marking must no longer be visible (arrow (B)). Resecure the clamp by pressing it forward and against the direction of the 10. arrows ⇒ fig. 169 B. Pull the bulb lightly to make sure the clamp is securely fastened. 11. Replace the plastic cover (1) in the headlight assembly and secure it by turning it clockwise (against the direction of the arrow). 12. Replace the headlight assembly. The illustrations show the left headlight assembly from the rear. The right headlight assembly is the mirror image of the left headlight assembly. Different models may have different lights, and the location and design of covers, bulb holders, and bulbs may be in a different location than shown in the illustrations. You cannot replace the LEDs in LED daytime running lights or LED parking lights within the headlight assembly. Contact your authorized Volkswagen dealer or an authorized Volkswagen Service Facility for assistance.
