NOTICE Always insert and remove lamps carefully to help prevent damage to the vehicle paint or to other parts of the vehicle. Replacing headlight bulbs - removing the headlight assembly Fig. 168 In the engine compartment: Release lever for the left headlight. ¤Please first read and note the introductory information and heed the WARNINGS To replace the headlight bulb, you must completely remove the headlight assembly. Please carry out each step only in the order specified: 1. Please review and follow the checklist 2. Open the engine hood 3. Release the headlight housing. Use the Phillips screwdriver from the vehicle tool kit to turn the release lever ⇒ fig. 168 (1). 4. Turn the screwdriver about 50° in the direction sofy tmheb ol (in the direction of the V arrow), until you hear a “click” (turn counterclockwise for the left headlight; turn clockwise for the right headlight). 5. Carefully remove the headlight assembly. You may need to push gently from behind the headlight assembly to guide it out. 6. Disconnect the connector plug. The illustrations show the left headlight. The right headlight is the mirror image.
