4. Loosen the oil filterB with an oil filterFor additional information on the location of the
wrenchbyturningitcounterclockwise.Thenengineoilfillercap,referto“Enginecompartment
remove the oil filter by turning it by hand.check locations”in this section
CAUTION
Becarefulnottoburnyourself.Theengine
oil may be hot.
5. Wipetheengineoilfiltersealingsurfacewith
a clean rag.
CAUTION
Besuretoremoveanyoldgasketmaterial
remaining on the sealing surface of the
engine. Failure to do so could lead to
engine damage.
6. Coat the gasket on the new filter with clean
engine oil.
7. Screwontheoilfilteruntilaslightresistance
is felt, then tighten an additional 2/3 turn.
8. Refill engine with recommended oil through
LDI2781 the oil filler opening A , then install oil filler
CHANGINGENGINEOILFILTER cap securely.
1. Parkthevehicleonalevelsurfaceandapply9. Start the engine and check for leakage
the parking brake. around the oil filter. Correct as required.
2. Turn the engine off. 10. Turn the engine off and wait more than
