INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE Tightening (viewed from filter top) (For diesel engine model) 5) Tighten the filter as specified below from the point of contact with the mounting surface (or to the specified torque) using an oil filter wrench. (2) Tightening torque for oil filter (2) 3/4 turn or Gasoline engine: 14 Nm (1.4 kg-m, 10.3 Ib-ft) Diesel engine: (1) 30 Nm (3.1 kg-m, 22.1 Ib-ft) NOTICE To prevent oil leakage, check that the 54G093 79J142 oil filter is tight, but do not over- (1) Oil filter (1) Loosen tighten it. (2) 3/4 turn (2) Tighten NOTICE To tighten the oil filter properly, it is important to accurately identify the position at which the filter gasket first contacts the mounting surface. 7-25
