1998 COROLLA(U) If the indicator or Do this.If the indicator or Do this.(a) Brake System Warning Light buzzer comes on. buzzer comes on. This light has the following functions: Parking brake reminder (f) Stop and check. (k)Key reminderRemove key. If this light is on, make sure the parking buzzer brake is fully released. The light should go off. (g) Take vehicle to (l)Light reminderTurn off lights.Low brake fluid level warning (type A) Toyota dealer. buzzer If this light comes on and stays on while you are driving, slowdown and pull off the road. Then stop the vehicle carefully. (type B) There maybe a problem somewhere in the brake system. Check the fluid level of the see−through reservoir. (h) Close all doors. To make sure the parking brake has not caused the warning light to come on, check to see that the parking brake is (i) Take vehicle to fully released. Toyota dealer If the brake fluid level is low. immediately. At a safe place, test your brakes by start- ing and stopping. If you judge that the brakes still work (j) Add washer fluid. adequately, drive cautiously to your nearest dealer or shop for repairs. If the brakes are not working, have the vehicle towed in for repairs. (For tow- ing information, see Part 4.) 79
