Steps to take in an emergency Warning lightWarning light/DetailsCorrection procedure Master warning light A buzzer sounds and the warning light comes on and flashes to indicate that P. 436 the master warning system has detected a malfunc- tion. *: Driver's and front passenger’s seat belt reminders: The driver’s and front passenger’s seat belt buzzer sounds to alert the driver and front passenger that his or her seat belt is not fastened. The buzzer sounds for 30 seconds after the vehicle has reached a speed of at least 20 km/h (12 mph). Then, if the seat belt is still unfastened, the buzzer will sound in a different tone for 90 more seconds. If the malfunction indicator lamp comes on while driving The malfunction indicator lamp will come on if the fuel tank becomes com- pletely empty. If the fuel tank is empty, refuel the vehicle immediately. The malfunction indicator lamp will go off after several trips. If the malfunction indicator lamp does not go off, contact any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped profes- sional, as soon as possible. Front passenger detection sensor and passenger seat belt reminder If luggage is placed on the front passenger seat, the front passenger detection sensor may cause the warning light to flash, even if a passen- ger is not sitting in the seat. If a cushion is placed on the seat, the sensor may not detect a passen- ger, and the warning light may not operate properly. Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer) When the 12-volt battery charge becomes insufficient or the voltage tempo- rarily drops, the electric power steering system warning light may come on and the warning buzzer may sound. 434 UK_AURIS_HV_EE
