Removing the Spare-Tire-Carrier-Mounted Spare Tire The outside-mounted spare tire is attached to the tire carrier. To remove the spare tire, do the following: 1. Open the tire carrier. See Tailgate (SUT) on page2-16 for tire carrier operation. 3. Pull off the license plate holder from the spare tire. 4. Slide the ratchet onto the wheel wrench with the DOWNmarkfacing you. 2. Unscrew the wingnut on the back of the tire carrier. 5-77
