Instrument cluster overview The needles on the dials in the instrument cluster are illuminated The instrument cluster is the driver's information centre. when the ignition is switched on. The main instrument lighting (for the dials and needles) comes on when the vehicle's lights are switched on. Engine oil temperature gauge The engine oil temperature gauge ⇒ fig. 2 only works when the igni- tion is switched on. In order to avoid possible damage to the engine, please read the following notes for the different temperature ranges. Engine cold If the needle is still in the lower range of the dial, this indicates that the engine oil has not yet reached operating temperature. Avoid high engine speeds, full acceleration and heavy engine loads.
