2.0 MZR-CD Engine Control System Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor • A hall-type APP (Accelerator Pedal Position) sensor has been introduced. For safety reasons the APP sensor consists of two hall elements integrated in the stator and a magnetic rotor joint to the accelerator pedal. NOTE: If one hall-type sensor fails, the PCM uses the signal from the other sensor to detect the driver’s acceleration demand. As a result, the engine speed is limited to approx. -1 2500 min .
