Fuel Filling Fuel Filling Once the pressure is released (hissing has LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE FUEL FILLER FLAP stopped), it is safe to fully remove the filler cap. WARNING To avoid any sudden discharge of fuel caused TIGHTEN PAST PREMIUM by excessive air pressure, the cap is designed 3 CLICKS UNLEADED FUEL ONLY to allow the fuel tank to vent during the first ESSENCE PREMIUM FAILURE TO TIGHTEN MAY SANS PLOMB half turn. DO NOT fully remove the cap until CAUSE CHECK ENGINE SEULEMENT LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE any pressure has been released. WLD100600 Take careful note of warning labels located around the filler flap. DO NOT fully fill the tank, if the vehicle is to be parked shortly afterwards a high ambient temperature for a long period - expansion of the fuel may damage the fuel system components. H2649 When replacing, tighten the cap clockwise until you hear the fuel cap ratchet click at least three times. If the cap is not fitted correctly, the ‘Service engine soon’ warning light may illuminate. H2650 The fuel filler is located in the rear right-hand wing. With the starter switch turned off, press the fascia mounted switch (shown in illustration) to release the filler flap. The filler cap is designed to allow the fuel tank to vent during the first half turn. Carefully loosen the cap one half turn until resistance is felt, and allow fuel tank pressure to be released. 94
