CX-9_8V83-EA-06I_Edition3 Page80 Monday, February 26 2007 7:17 PM Black plate (80,1) Essential Safety Equipment SRSAirBags Monitoring and Maintenance qConstantMonitoring Thefollowing components of the air bag systems are monitored by a diagnostic system: l SASunit l Front air bag sensor l Air bag modules l Side crash sensors l Front seat belt pretensioners l Related wiring l Driver seat slide position sensor l Front passenger seat weight sensors Thediagnostic module continuously monitors the system's readiness. This begins when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position and continues while the vehicle is being driven. qMaintenance Theair bag systems do not require regular maintenance. But if any of the following occurs, take your vehicle to an Authorized Mazda Dealer as soon as possible: l The air bag system warning light flashes. l The air bag system warning light remains illuminated. l The air bag system warning light does not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. l The air bag system warning beep sound will be heard. l The air bags have deployed. l Front passenger air bag deactivation indicator light does not illuminate when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position or does not illuminate as indicated in the chart.
