If Trouble Arises
When Liftgate Cannot be Opened
Liftgate Cannot be When Using a 4. fl athead screwdriver, turn the
Opened lever to the right to unlock the liftgate.
If the vehicle battery is dead or there is a Lever
malfunction in the electrical system and
the liftgate cannot be opened, perform
the following procedure as an emergency
measure to open it:
Fold down 1. the rear seatbacks.
Refer to Split/One-piece Folding the
Seatback on page 2-7 .
2. Remove cover on the interior surface of
the liftgate using a fl athead screwdriver.

Cover have the vehicle inspected at an expert
repairer, we recommend an Authorised
Mazda Repairer as soon as possible.
Using a 3. fl athead screwdriver, open the
inner cover.
