3 Open the exclusive jump starting
terminal cover.
4 Connect the jumper cables according to the following procedure:
1Connect a positive jumper cable clamp to the exclusive jump starting ter-
minal on your vehicle.
2Connect the clamp on the other end of the positive cable to the positive (+)
battery terminal on the second vehicle.
3Connect a negative cable clamp to the negative (-) battery terminal on the8
second vehicle.

4Connect the clamp at the other end of the negative cable to a solid, station-h
en
ary, unpainted metallic point away from the exclusive jump starting terminal t
r
o
and any moving parts, as shown in the illustration.u

5 Start the engine of the second vehicle. Increase the engine speed slightly and
ar
i
maintain at that level for approximately 5 minutes to recharge the 12-volt bat-s
e
tery of your vehicle. s
6 Open and close any of the doors of your vehicle with the power switch off.
