Towing the vehicle
Installing towing eye bolt Removing cover
Depending on whether you are towing a iThe cover 1 is secured to the bumper by a
vehicle or you are being towed, the towing plastic cord.
eye bolt can be screwed into threaded Press mark on cover 1 as indicated by
holes which are located behind covers on the arrow.
the right-hand side of each bumper. Lift off cover 1 to reveal the threaded
hole for towing eye bolt.
Installing towing eye bolt
1Cover Take the towing eye bolt and wheel
Warning! G wrench from the vehicle tool kit
( page 495).
In order to avoid possible serious burns or Screw towing eye bolt in clockwise to
injury, use extreme caution when removing its stop and tighten with wheel wrench.
1Cover the rear cover, because the rear exhaust Removing towing eye bolt
pipe is extremely hot.
Loosen towing eye bolt counterclock-
wise with wheel wrench.
Unscrew towing eye bolt.
Store the towing eye bolt and wheel
wrench back into the vehicle tool kit
( page 495).
