l Vehicle roll-over may not provide qConstantMonitoring
enough side force to deploy the side Thefollowing components of the air bag
and curtain air bags. systems are monitored by a diagnostic
system:
l SASunit
l Front air bag sensor
l Air bag modules
l Side and curtain air bag crash sensor
l Side impacts with two-wheeled
vehicles may not provide enough force l Front seat belt pretensioners
to deploy the side and curtain air bags. l Related wiring
l Driver's seat slide position sensor
l Front seat belt buckle switches
Adiagnostic module continuously
monitors the systems' readiness. This
begins when the ignition switch is turned
Non-activation of side and curtain air to the ON position and continues while
bags the vehicle is being driven.
Theside and curtain air bags will not qAirBag/FrontSeatBelt
normally inflate in the following cases: Pretensioner System Warning
l Collision from the rear. Light
l Collision from the front, but it may If the air bag/front seat belt pretensioner
deploy the front air bags. system is normal, the warning light
illuminates when the ignition switch is
turned to the ON position or after the
engine is cranked. After about 6 seconds
it goes out.
