Allow the engine to idle for approximately 60 seconds or more to give the turbo- charger a chance to cool down. 5. Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position. The diesel preheat indicator lamp will first illuminate, and then after a short time go out, indicating that preheating is completed. 1-24
