Vehicle key set ¤ Introduction In this section you’ll find information about: Remote control vehicle keys Emergency key Indicator light in the remote control vehicle key Replacing the remote control vehicle key battery Synchronizing the remote control vehicle key More information: x Volkswagen Information System x Power locking and closing system x Starting and stopping the engine x Consumer information x Emergency closing and opening DANGER 20 mm button cells and other lithium batteries will cause serious personal injury and even death within a short time if swallowed. x Always keep remote control vehicle key fobs with batteries, spare batteries, as we alls dead button cell and larger 20 mm batteries out of the reach of children. x Get medical attention immediately if you suspect that a battery has been swallowed. WARNING Improper use of vehicle keys can result in serious personal injury. x Always take the key with you when you leave the vehicle. It can be used to start the eginne and operate vehicle systems such as the power windows, leading to serious personal injury. Children or other unauthorized persons could also lock the doors and the luggage compart- ment. x Never leave children, disabled persons, or anyone who cannot help themselves in the vehicle. The doors can be locked with the remote control vehicle key. This could leave people trapped in the vehicle in an emergency. Depending on the time of year, people trapped in the vehicle can be exposed to very high or very low temperatures. x A closed vehicle can become very hot or very cold, depending on the season. Particularly in the summer, heat buildup in the passenger and luggage compartment of a parked vehicle can result in temperatures in the vehicle that are much higher than the outside temperatures. Temperatures can quickly reach levels that can cause unconsciousness and death, particu- larly to small children. x Never remove the key from the ignition switch while the vehicle is moving or rolling to a stop. The steering wheel will lock and you will not be able to steer or control the vehicle.
