Engine compartment 423 Display messages The measuremen tt akes a few seconds. You will see one of the following messages in the multifunction display: Problem Possible causes/consequences and M Solutions Engine Oil Level OK The oil level is correct. Add 1.0 l Engine The oil level is too low. Oil At Next X add 1. 0lof engine oil. Refueling . Add 1.5 l Engine The oil level is too low. Oil At Next X add 1.5 l of engine oil. Refueling . Add 2.0 l Engine The oil level is too low. Oil At Next X add 2.0 l of engine oil. Refueling . Engine Oil Level The engine oil level is too high. Reduce Oil Level X Have excess engine oil siphoned off. For Engine Oil The ignition is switched off. Level Ignition X Turn the SmartKey to position 2 in the ignition lock. Must be On care and Need More Time to The required waiting period was not observed. Maintenance Check Engine Oil X If the engine is at normal operating temperature: repeat the Level measurement after about five minutes. If the engine is not at normal operating temperature (e.g. if the engine was only started briefly): repeat the measurement after about 30 minutes.
