Do-it-yourself maintenance ■ How to initialize the tire pressure warning system (vehicles with a tire pressure warning system) 1 Park the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch to the “LOCK” position (vehicles without a smart entry & start system) or off (vehicles with a smart entry & start system). Initialization cannot be performed while the vehicle is moving. 2 Adjust the tire inflation pressure to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level. (→P. 509) Make sure to adjust the tire pressure to the specified cold tire inflation pressure level. The tire pressure warning system will operate based on this pressure level. 3 Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position (vehicles without a smart entry & start system) or IGNITION ON mode (vehicles with a smart entry & start system). 4 Press and hold the tire pres- sure warning reset switch until the tire pressure warn- ing light blinks slowly 3 times. 5 Vehicles without a smart entry & start system: Wait for a few min- utes with the engine switch in the “ON” position and then turn the engine switch to the “ACC” or “LOCK” position.
