Fuses 321
Thefusesinyourvehicleservetoclosedownseeping in or dirt could otherwise impair

Blown fuses must be replaced with fuses of
the same rating, which you can recognize by
thecolorandvalue.Thefuseratingsarelisted
in the fuse allocation chart.
If a newly inserted fuse also blows, have the
cause traced and rectified at a qualified spe-
cialist workshop, e.g. an authorized
Mercedes-Benz Center.
XOpenthehood.
Before changing a fuse
XUseadryclothtoremoveanymoisture
from the fuse box.
XSecurethevehicle against rolling away
XToopen:openclamps;.

XSwitchoff all electrical consumers.XFoldupcover:inthedirectionofthe
assistance
arrow and remove it.
XTurntheSmartKeytoposition0intheigni-
tion lock and remove it (Y page 143). All
indicator lamps in the instrument cluster
mustbeoff.
The fuses are located in various fuse boxes:
Breakdown
RFuseboxintheenginecompartmentonthe
left-hand side of the vehicle, when viewed
in the direction of travel
RFuseboxinthefront-passenger footwell
Thefuseallocationchartisonthefuseboxin
the front-passenger footwell (Y page 322).
XToclose:checkwhetherthesealisseated
correctly in cover :.
Fuseboxintheenginecompartment
XInsert cover : at the back into openings

XFolddowncover:.
Whenthehoodisopenandthewindshield
wipersaresetinmotion,youcanbeinjuredbyXHookclamps;intothefuseboxand
the wiper linkage. There is a risk of injury.close.
Always switch off the windshield wipers andXClosethehood.
