30 Child Safety Perform the following steps to attach a child safety seat to the tether anchor: 1. Route the tether strap as follows: • For coupe with rear seats: Route the tether strap over the top of the head restraint. • For coupe without rear seats: Route the tether strap through the inboard slot of the front passenger seat back or route the tether strap over the top of the seat. A tether strap extension may be needed to reach the tether anchor. 2. Locate the correct anchor for the selected seating position. 3. Open the tether anchor cover. 4. Clip the tether strap to the anchor as shown. If the tether strap is clipped incorrectly, the child safety seat may not be retained properly in the event of a collision. 5. Tighten the child safety seat tether strap according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
