The airbagsystemuses the
principles of pyrotechnics. This
explains why, when the airbag
inflates,itwillgenerateheat,
producesmoke(thisdoesnotmean
that a fire is about to start) and
makeanoiseupondetonation. In a
situationwherean airbagis
required, it will inflate
immediately and this may cause
some minor, superficial grazing to
the skin or other problems.
