Checking Things Under Hood Release the Hood To open the hood, do the following: 1. Pull the handle located inside the vehicle on {CAUTION: the lower left side of the instrument panel. Things that burn can get on hot engine parts and start a ﬁre. These include liquids like fuel, oil, coolant, brake ﬂuid, windshield washer and other ﬂuids, and plastic or rubber. You or others could be burned. Be careful not to drop or spill things that will burn onto a hot engine. 2. Release the secondary latch located under the front edge of the hood. 3. Lift the hood. 5-10
