When Driving Brake When r eleasing the electric parking (T ype B instrument cluster) brake (EPB) The brake pedal operation demand The electric parking brake (EPB) can be indicator light (green) in the instrument released while the ignition is switched cluster turns on. ON or the engine is running. When the electric parking brake (EPB) is released, the electric parking brake (EPB) indicator light and the electric parking brake (EPB) switch indicator light turn off. (Green) electric parking brake (EPB) manual release electric parking brake (EPB) automatic Securely depress the brake pedal and press release down the electric parking brake (EPB) If the accelerator pedal is depressed with switch. the electric parking brake (EPB) applied and all of the following conditions met, the Indicator light parking brake is released automatically.  The engine is running.  The driver's door is closed.  The driver's seat belt is fastened. (Manual transaxle)  The change lever is in a position other than neutral.  The clutch pedal is depressed halfway (Automatic transaxle) Firmly depress the brake pedal and press  the electric parking brake (EPB) switch. Selector lever is in the D, M, or R If the electric parking brake (EPB) switch position is pressed without depressing the brake pedal, the display or indicator light in the NOTE instrument cluster notiﬁ es the driver that If something such as the driver's foot the brake is not depressed. contacts the accelerator pedal with the (T ype A instrument cluster) engine running and the electric parking A message is displayed on the multi- brake (EPB) applied, the parking brake information display in the instrument may be released automatically.
