200 Fuel Prewarming fuel Opening the fuel filler cap The vehicle is fitted with a fuel filter prewarming system. This secures – Unlock the fuel filler flap with the switch in the driver door operation of a vehicle using diesel fuel down to an environmental temper-⇒page42. ature of -25°C. Biofuel – Open the fuel filler flap fully. We recommend refuelling with diesel fuel at temperatures below -10°C.– Unscrew the cap by turning it to the left. Caution – Place the cap onto the top of the fuel filler flap ⇒ fig. 151. It is not permitted to add the various fuel additives on the market, including Closing fuel filler cap petrol, to diesel fuel in order to improve its flow properties.– Screw on the cap by turning it to the right until it is heard to lock. Refuelling – Press the fuel tank flap closed. The correct grade of fuel for your vehicle as well as the tyre size and infla- Refuelling procedure tion pressures are stated on a sticker affixed to the inside of the fuel filler flap. Further information on fuel ⇒ page 198. The fuel tank has a capacity of about 62 litres. WARNING Pay attention to any legal requirements if you do carry a spare canister in the vehicle. We do not recommend carrying any fuel canisters in your vehicle for safety reasons. The canister can be damaged in the event of an accident and fuel may leak out.
