INSTRUMENTS Instrument background and type can change according to versions. DASHBOARDAND CONTROLS SPEEDOMETER (SPEED INDICATOR) It indicates the car speed. SAFETYDEVICES REV. COUNTER The rev. counter shows engine rpm. The needle pointed to the danger area (red on certain versions) indicates excessive high engine speed. Do F0I0229m not drive for long periods with the needle in this area. CORRECT USEOF THE CAR IMPORTANT The electronic injection control system gradually shuts off the flow of fuel when the engine is “over-revving” resulting in a gradual loss of engine power. ARNING When the engine is idling, the rev counter may indicate a gradual or W LIGHTS ANDMESSAGES sudden highering of the speed. This is normal as it takes place during normal operation, for example when activating the climate control system or the fan. In particular a slow IN AN change in the speed preserves the battery charge. EMERGENCY FUEL LEVEL GAUGE F0I0042m The needle indicates the amount of fuel left in the tank.The reserve CAR warning light (A) turns on (on certain versions together with the message MAINTENANCE shown on the reconfigurable multifunction display) to indicate that 5 to 7 litres of fuel are left in the tank. TIONS E - tank empty. F - tank full (see contents of “At the filling station” paragraph in this TECHNICALSPECIFICA chapter). Do not travel with the fuel tank almost empty: the gaps in fuel delivery could damage the catalyst.
