Set the parking brake. 2. Removethekeyfromtheignition switch. 3. Put a cloth on the edge of the shift SHIFTLOCKRELEASESLOT lock release slot cover next to the 4. Insert the key in the shift lock 6. RemovethekeyfromtheShift shift lever. Using a flat-tip release slot. LockReleaseslot, then reinstall screwdriver, carefully pry on the thecover.Makesurethenotchon edgeof the cover to remove it. 5. Push downonthekeywhileyou the cover is on the right side. pressthereleasebuttononthe Pressthebrakepedal,andrestart shift lever and move the shift lever the engine. out of Park to neutral. If you need to use the shift lock release, it means your vehicle is developing a problem. Have it checkedbyyourdealer. 158
