Upshifting Direct mode can be used for temporarily
For normal acceleration and cruising, we switching gears by operating the steering
recommendthese shift points. shift switch while the vehicle is being
driven with the selector lever in the D

M1toM2 24 km/h (15 mph) While in direct mode, the D and M
M2toM3 40 km/h (25 mph) indicator lights illuminate and the gear
M3toM4 53 km/h (33 mph) position in use is illuminated.
M4toM5 59 km/h (37 mph) Direct mode is canceled (released) under
M5toM6 78 km/h (49 mph) the following conditions.
For cruising l Thevehicle is driven at a constant
Gear Vehicle speed speed.
l Theneedle in the tachometer
M1toM2 22 km/h (14 mph) approaches the red zone.
M2toM3 27 km/h (17 mph) l Thevehicle is driven at a constant
M3toM4 41 km/h (26 mph) speed and the accelerator pedal is
M4toM5 56 km/h (35 mph) heavily depressed.
M5toM6 64 km/h (40 mph) l Thevehicle is stopped or moving at a
Downshifting slow speed.

traffic or on a steep upgrade, downshift
