Driving Your Mazda Starting and Driving Ignition Switch Automatic transaxle Toturn the key from the ACC to the qIgnition Switch Positions LOCKposition, the shift lever must be in the P position. Shift lever engaged in P (park) LOCK Thesteering wheel locks to protect WARNING against theft. Only in this position can the key be removed. Manualtransaxle RemovingtheKey: It's dangerous to remove the key from Toturn the key from the ACC to the the ignition switch while the vehicle is LOCKposition, push the key in at the moving. Removing the key allows the ACCposition, then turn it to the LOCK steering wheel to lock. You will lose position. steering control and a serious accident could occur. Removethekeyonlywhenthevehicle is parked. Not Setting the Parking Brake: Leaving the driver's seat without setting the parking brake is dangerous.
